The omega-3 fatty acids in fish oils work wonders for our hearts and our brains. Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine have found that a weekly meal of baked or broiled fish will improve your brain’s health, even regardless of how many omega-3 fatty acids it has. The study looked at data from 260 cognitively normal participants and analyzed their dietary intake in comparison to high resolution MRI scans of their brains. The findings concluded that people who ate baked or broiled fish once a week had larger areas of grey matter in the area in their brain that is responsible for memory and cognition.
