Diabetics take pharmaceutical drugs to regulate blood sugar. Researchers at the University of Illinois have found that oregano and rosemary can be just as effective at treating type-2 diabetes, according to a new study. Oregano and rosemary are effective because they inhibit the same enzyme that is associated with diabetes that drugs do. This discovery could lead to cheaper, healthier treatments for people with type-2 diabetes. Type-2 diabetes patients in the US spend about $175 billion on drugs for treatment annually.
