Yesterday we reported that yoga along with meditation might play a role in keeping you healthy during cancer treatment. Now a study has been released that says yoga might help protect against heart disease—especially if you can’t do more rigorous exercises. Dutch researchers reviewed some 37 studies involving close to 3,000 participants and discovered that the muscle strengthening aspects of yoga, along with breathing and mental exercises can noticeably reduce the chances of getting heart disease. While yoga does not count toward the 150 minutes of exercise you should get every week, it does do a great deal for the body and mind.
