I love all of my friends just the way they are, but sadly, not everyone does. Often people are critical of their friend’s body image, negatively impacting them. A new study found that for women who were concerned about their weight, those that had accepting friends maintained the same weight, and even lost some, while those with critical friends gained weight. The study bolsters the proven idea that feeling motivated catalyzes weight loss. So if you’re critical—hopefully you’re not—be encouraging, it will help your friends, and probably yourself too.
