Electric vehicles (EVs) are the cars of the future, they’re environmentally friendly, and pretty easy to charge—just plug it in over night. But what if you’re one of the millions of Americans that live in an apartment without your own garage? A new company called Powertree aims to solve that problem. Powertree installs solar panels on apartment roofs, and then hooks them up to charging stations in the garage. EV owners then pay a monthly fee, and charge their vehicle like anyone else. Powertree has just partnered with Panasonic and is currently rolling out their first power stations in apartments in San Francisco.
