Studies have shown that writing in a journal can help heal wounds faster, reduce fatigue in cancer patients, and lessen symptoms of asthma and rheumatoid arthritis. While you might not be the writing type, anyone can turn into a writer and reap these benefits. Start by choosing a time in the day where you sit down and write. Write at least a bit everyday at nearly the same time, make it habit. Once you decide on that time, don’t think about what you’re going to write, just do it, whatever comes to your mind—this can be an interesting and sometime surprising exercise. Not everyone will be a novelist, but that’s not the point, just write and heal wounds on the inside and outside.
