The federal government released their January jobs report detailing the current state of the US job market, and the findings are quite optimistic. Right now the job market is accelerating at a pace not seen for 15 years. Additionally the size of the US labor force increased an impressive 703,000 in January. For workers this means that employers are hiring at a rapid pace and having to offer better compensation to draw top talent—hourly earnings went up 2.2 percent as well, which is higher than the rate of inflation. There should be no question that we have in fact climbed out of the great recession, and are doing quite well.
