Figuring out what’s healthy isn’t hard—the less processed, and more raw—vegetables, not meat—the better. But kids often want the sweet, sugary stuff and as parents we want to make them happy. But as it turns out the foods we feed our kids when they’re young impacts the decisions they make in adulthood. A recent study surveyed 670 college students, and 122 of their parents, and asked them about their current eating habits, and the eating habits they were exposed to as a child. The researchers found that kids who were more exposed to healthy food choices growing up were more likely to choose healthy options after they had left home. So while we all want to make our kids happy, the choices we make for them—or offer them to make—have a long lasting impact.
