Today’s Solutions: November 16, 2024

It’s a fact that over 90% of the car crashes are caused by human error. For years and years, governments and traffic organizations have done everything they can to promote safe driving. But it’s hard to change human behavior, to stop reckless driving, forgetting to signal before crossing a lane, or talking on the phone while driving. Knowing all this, it’s almost impossible not to embrace the self-driving car, which can guide us into a future free of car accidents. The technologies built into the self-driving cars might still take a while to develop, but they are very likely to avoid serious crashes all together, because they can simply be programmed to make faster and better decisions than humans. This article in The Guardian gives a wonderful overview of all these promising technologies.
