There’s no correlation between the number of rainy days in a country and the levels of happiness of its people. And we don’t buy that. According to the latest update of the World Happiness Report by the United Nations, the top 5 happiest countries are all Northwestern—rain rich—European countries. Denmark leads, followed by Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Finland. Then come Canada and The Netherlands and only in the 8th position is a country with a decent amount of sunshine: New Zealand. Burundi has a lot of sunshine but is the least happy country in the world. So, at least by UN metrics, happiness has nothing to do with the sunshine. Check out the report to learn about the factors that do drive happiness.
