Researchers have shown that various types of intestinal bacteria might be factors in both causing and preventing obesity and in other conditions and diseases. Now researchers have found bacteria can potentially reduce the risk of cancer. The study found that prescribing probiotics to replace or bolster certain type of bacteria in the gut could significantly reduce gene damage and inflammation, critical in a wide range of diseases, including cancer.
