Stress is undermining the quality of many lives. Research even shows that stress kills. However, research on mice suggests a remarkable solution: Gut bacteria can lower stress levels. A new study with people in Japan now seems to confirm the findings with mice. The study with medical students shows that a daily probiotic drink can blunt the body’s response to stress. Those drinking probiotics also reported lower levels of stress and abdominal dysfunction compared with the placebo subjects.
