Artificial intelligence (AI) gets a lot of bad press, but computing may very well solve many of the planet’s ills. Companies and researchers are collecting unimaginable amounts of data through Google searches, Facebook posts, etc. AI is how we’ll learn from that data, and—in fact—it’s the only way we can make sense of so many data. AI will lead to personalized medicine, to individualized online education, to personal finance systems and more. As technology-watcher, Kevin Kelly, enthusiastically proclaims: It’s inevitable.
