No matter how much experience a medical professional has under their belt, spotting whether a severe burn is healing nicely or at risk of infection is no easy task. Sometimes the details that reveal the condition of burn are so miniscule that they cannot be seen, but soon enough doctors may not have to rely on their eyes. Instead, artificial intelligence can use it’s enormous troves of medical imagery and advanced imaging technologies to spot hidden insights that may be unseen to the human eye. Through complex imagery techniques, AI can analyze patterns within a patient’s burn to identify a certain infection caused by a certain bacteria. And what’s most ingenious about AI is that it will continue to become more accurate with each case that it analyzes.
