Global growth of solar power and curbing climate change go hand in hand. If growth slows down, climate change will further its grip on the earth. Luckily, the expansion of solar power is going remarkably well thanks to plummeting costs of electricity. The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory released a set of reports tracking solar prices, and the results suggest that the U.S will reach its target of bringing solar power down to $1 per watt installed costs by 2020. That’s a 75 percent reduction in costs from 2010. Here are 7 charts that show how fast and promising the growth of solar power is.
