The more skyscrapers built in cities, the more potential for leaving people in the shade. It’s a serious issue that’s sparked protests from New York residents and causes permission to be regularly denied for towers that cast too much shadow. With that in mind, architecture firm Studio Gang have designed a building in Manhattan to address those issues. One noticeable feature is the glass structure looks as if some parts have been cut off, done to give neighboring buildings ample shade while regulating airflow. The building is also set to have a rooftop garden and solar panels and is being made using recycled materials.
