Companies like Google and Amazon are experimenting with drone deliveries, and now UPS has joined in on the action. However, the UPS delivery service stands out. Instead of operating from a fixed distribution center, the UPS drone is launched from the top of a delivery truck. While the drone delivers an off-route package, the delivery driver continues his route and the drone catches up again later. Using drones this way, cuts costs and emissions. Until the government grants drones the permission to make deliveries in more populated places, you shouldn’t be expecting a drone at your door anytime soon.
