The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) states that innovation is key to sustaining the productivity growth required to meet the rising demand for sustainable food production, processing, distribution, consumption and waste management known as food systems. As it turns out, the most innovative country in terms of new products and services, Switzerland, also had the strongest sustainable food network. The UN agency pointed out that countries with a rapidly growing innovation capacity such as India and Kenya are also building stronger sustainable food networks, helping cut waste while reducing hunger.
