Water has value. You may not think about that when you turn on the shower—although that may be different if you live in a place like California that is still recovering from years of drought. There are many more places dealing with water shortages. The easiest way to save water is to target agriculture that uses 70 percent of the world’s fresh water resources. Colorado is successful with a “water for money” program that offers farmers cash if they use less water. It is an interesting experiment that may inspire follow-up in other places.
