We need more women in areas that have traditionally attracted mainly men. Silicon Valley is one example and recent developments show how hard it is for women to find equality in that world. Given the impact of Silicon Valley on almost everything in society, that lack of equality is a major obstacle towards a healthier, more harmonious world. Women are also still behind in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Recent research shows that women are more successful when they are mentored by another woman. According to the research identifying with and feeling connected to a female mentor can in turn influence women’s success in the field.
