A new German study confirms that drinking coffee is good for your heart. The caffeine in coffee kick-starts a protein that is found in the mitochondria—the energy centers of the cells—that help protect the heart and repair damage to heart muscles after a heart attack. Four cups of coffee a day deliver the optimum amount of caffeine to provide protection to our heart, according to the new study.
