In India, burning straw that’s left after harvesting rice fields is a common practice among farmers. This is a major air pollutant that adds to the already smog-filled skies of India’s biggest cities. Ikea wants to step in and provide farmers with an attractive alternative of buying their unused part of rice plants to turn it into a material for new products.
