With the elections coming up, ride-sharing giant Lyft is offering free and discounted rides to help people get to their local polling stations.
When election day arrives, riders will be able to get 50 percent off one ride (up to $10) to a dropbox or polling location when you use the code 2020VOTE. Additionally, Lyft is offering the same deal for its bikes and scooters.
For areas where reliable and affordable transportation is hard to come by, the company is working with several nonprofits to offer free rides. Its partners include More Than A Vote, which is providing ride access to arena polling locations in several cities, as well as Black Women’s Roundtable, the National Federation of the Blind, and Student Veterans of America.
This isn’t the first time Lyft has done something like this. In fact, the company offered free or low-cost rides during the 2018 midterms and this year’s primaries.
