Anyone enters the search term “woman” into a stock photography site has to wade through plenty of objectifying and exclusionary images to find what they need. Nearly everything you’ll find is white skin, bikini and underwear shots, and over-sexualized glamour (trust us, we see it all the time).

This is a problem for media businesses and advertisers who want to make representative campaigns that do good but can’t find the right imagery to match. To solve this issue, stock image giant Getty Images worked with photographers all over the world to create 5,000 newly available photographs that are more culturally representative of female beauty, confidence, and success.

The series, which featured 179 women from 39 countries, is purposely diverse, highlighting women of all shapes, sizes, abilities, and skin colors! It also includes women with obvious scars and skin conditions.
