Approximately one in five people live with a mental illness. Unfortunately, the stigma surrounding mental health makes it a difficult issue to discuss even with those we are closest to. We are conditioned to portray to the world we are doing well, even if it is not the truth. 

What if it was ok to answer a friendly, “How are you?” with something other than, “Fine”?

Normalizing honest discussions about our mental state can help forge meaningful discussions about mental health with ourselves and those around us for a more productive outlook on the topic of mental wellbeing. The importance of genuine discussions about our mental states is only now coming into focus, and we celebrate this trend.
