Ordering take out from your favorite restaurant can help them scrape by while COVID-19 impacts profits. Now, Uber Eats is making it easier to support your favorite local spots by adding a “donate” button to food orders.

Uber will also donate $2 million to The Restaurant Employee Relief Fund and match individual donations dollar for dollar for up to $3 million. The company says all personal donations will go directly to customers’ restaurants of choice.

The Restaurant Employee Relief Fund is managed by the educational fund of the 100-year-old National Restaurant Association, which represents 500,000 restaurants across the country.

The Uber Eats app donation button offers a $2 suggested donation or customers can enter their own custom amount. Uber is also working to deliver 300,000 free meals to medical workers. While the company is not explicitly seeking permission from restaurants, they can easily opt out of the donation system if they wish.

If you’re ordering meals from Uber Eats, consider donating to some of your favorite local restaurants to help support them during this challenging time.
