The ubiquity of plastic packaging, as well as the carbon emissions associated with most purchases we make on a daily basis, can make it rather difficult to live a zero-waste lifestyle. But as the zero-waste movement is steadily gaining momentum, an increasing number of retailers are working to make it easier for us to integrate more sustainability within our lives.

Take, for instance, Cocoanutty, an online retailer that offers home and personal care items with a minimal impact on the environment. The shop scours eco-minded businesses to find products that are environmentally friendly and then makes them all available in an easily accessible online store.

The idea is to save consumers the time of tracking down each product themselves and having them shipped from multiple locations, which typically only increases the carbon footprint of the products.

The company’s mission is to “make eco-friendly products the go-to for every household. We’re doing this by making a sustainable lifestyle more approachable. Our curated selection of sustainable, environmentally friendly, and all-natural products aim to help you live well, while treating the Earth well.”

Cocoanutty’s products serve as proof that living well and honoring the limited resources of the planet are not mutually exclusive. For example, the store offers a luxurious-smelling lavender shampoo bar that looks like soap but performs like shampoo without any single-use plastic. Among the products is also a plastic-free toothbrush made with bamboo wood for the handle and bamboo charcoal fiber for the bristles.

What’s more, to allow for even more sustainability, the shop is also dedicated to achieving zero carbon emissions associated with shipping its products. The company ensures every shipment made through its platform is neutralized with the help of certified carbon offsets from Pachama – funds that go toward forest protection initiatives.

“We’re combating waste by ensuring that our products are packaged and shipped with zero plastic or recycled materials,” Cocoanutty explained. “Beyond our eco-friendly collection, consumers can feel good about making an order with our carbon-neutral shipping.”
