Six months after most of North America went into lockdown, Canada has reported no new deaths from Covid-19 in a 24 hour period.
According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, over 6 million people have been tested for the virus in Canada, with 2.1 percent of tests coming back positive. And while there have been new cases reported, there were no new deaths reported last Friday. Fatalities from coronavirus spiked back in April and steadily increased until July, before starting to plateau over the summer.
The good news out of Canada comes just days after New York reported a positivity rate of below 1 percent for 30 days straight, showing huge improvements for a state that was intimately the epicenter of the virus in America. If you want to see the story on New York from Monday, read it here.
