If you’re intrigued by plant-based alternative meats but have been hesitant because of their expensive price tag, we’ve got good news for you. Impossible Foods has announced that it plans to cut the price of its plant-based burgers by 20 percent at US grocery stores.

Impossible Foods has been a leader in the alternative meat sector, seeking realistic meat substitutes that taste and feel like the real deal without the hefty environmental and animal welfare impacts of traditional meat.

Creating convincing fake meat is no easy task, so initially, these options would cost you just as much, if not more, than a regular hamburger. However, with the ever-increasing demand for plant-based foods, the company has been able to drop down their prices and make the product accessible for a wider range of consumers.

The price change drops down the cost of a grocery store Impossible Burger patty to about $5.49 in US stores. The company plans to introduce similar price cuts across stores in Canada, Singapore, and Hong Kong in the near future.
