Today’s Solutions: December 16, 2025

When music band Coldplay announced their 2022 Music of the Spheres World Tour, it was clear that the tour would look a little different than the ones of the past. The band laid out a 12-point plan to make their performances more sustainable, including harnessing the energy of eager concertgoers.

A nightclub in Glasgow is one of the first to use human energy to reduce emissions. Coldplay’s tour follows a similar method, but rather than using heat from dancers, the band captured the energy of dancing fans through kinetic flooring.

In addition to their innovative dancing scheme, the band will also use electric vehicles for transportation wherever possible, install solar tiles on venues, and plant a tree for every ticket sold.

The band has been consulting with environmental experts for two years to figure out how to lower its footprint. They said in a statement: “We won’t get everything right, but we’re committed to doing everything we can and sharing what we learn. It’s a work in progress and we’re really grateful for the help we’ve had so far.”
