It could very well be that 2015 will go down in history as the year humanity understood the perils of climate change and stood up to its imminent effects. This isn’t a statement based upon false optimism but rather one based upon the results of the world’s response to the climate emergency. Through the smog, environmentalists now see a bit of light, as innovation and political willpower are finally working simultaneously to help wean the world off of carbon-emitting fossil fuels. The coal industry is free falling, wind and solar power sources are on the rise and President Obama is working on getting the U.S running on a clean-power plan. On top of it all, China is battling its own intolerable air pollution with drops in the coal industry and massive investments in green energy. To give you more insight on the world’s advancements, here’s a climate-change story that will actually make you proud of the people of Earth.
