The shorter workday gives employees more energy, motivation and time to spend outside of work, increasing the overall well-being of staff. In turn, employers are finding shorter shifts increases productivity and efficiency while reducing staff turnover, producing a better experience for clients as well. The shorter workday also keeps people happy to stay at their jobs, allowing the government to cut down on unemployment benefit payments. Isn’t time for other advanced nations to consider switching to a six-hour workday?
