Eating dinner together with family or friends is one of the great pleasures in life. It’s a time to relax, connect with others, share stories, catch up on the day. But a recent analysis by restaurant reservations website OpenTable shows that an increasing number of diners are reserving tables for one. Single table reservations have gone up 62 percent in the last two years. Could it be that we all in need for some solitude? In these times with communication devices, it’s not often that we find ourselves “alone”. Wouldn’t it be great to—once in a while—enjoy dinner just by yourself, experience some solitude, no need for small talk, no multi-tasking? Here are five really good reasons to go out and reserve a table for one in your favorite restaurant.
