New research surrounding the overt benefits of meditation seems to be coming out every week. Researchers at UCLA found that meditation helps you maintain grey matter in your brain, as you get older and keeps your brain from aging. A type of meditation called Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction has been proven to reduce anxiety while simultaneously increasing activity in the areas of the brain associated with memory and learning.
