The world we live in has never been as connected as it is now. Trade, immigration, climate change—opportunities and issues bring the human family together like never before, whether we like it or not. Truth be told, many of us do not like it—if the growing trend towards strengthening borders or separatism is any indication. Simon Anholt hopes to help the conversation become more transnational through the Good Country Index. His goal is to evaluate the quality of engagement of each country in the world through 35 indicators, including the number of refugees taken in, the number of students or peacekeepers sent abroad, and the amount of toxic waste or volume of weapons exported.
