And winds are unpredictable whereas as oceans move constant in both direction and speed. A new Japanese design for a marine turbine is a hybrid of a kite and a wind turbine and is designed to be placed at a depth of 100 meters below the surface where the waters of the current flow steadily and relatively calmly even during storms.
