People who took a dance class improved their fitness three times more than non-dancers. Even if you’re up in years and out of shape, you should be dancing, according to a new study. A group of 57 people, all sedentary, Spanish-speaking Latinos around age 65, were assigned a program for four months. At the end of the study, both groups had increased their physical activity, but the dance group improved more. The dance group completed a 400-meter walk 38 seconds faster than they had at the start of the study, the non-dancers improved by 10 seconds.
