UNICEF’S Kid Power band is an activity tracker that counts how much energy the user burns. Since 2014, the humanitarian organization dispersed these trackers to kids across the U.S. to wear while they exercise. Then, using that data, the humanitarian organization can give a commensurate amount of packets of peanut butter-based, ready-to-use-therapeutic food to children facing malnutrition in the developing world. It’s a win-win, as it drives kids in the U.S. to get more active while providing UNICEF on just on how much nutrition a child needs and how to properly disperse it.
