The harsh climate of the grasslands in China have long made it difficult for villagers to plant or herd anything. Now, thanks to new solar farms and greenhouses, residents are able to harvest light and grow crops. The abundance of sunlight produces an abundance of energy, allowing the residents to power their own village while feeding electricity back to the grid. And thanks to a government stipend, the villagers are ensured higher revenues for their electricity to help them rise out of poverty. Solar farms can do more than just produce electricity, they can light up the path to prosperity.
