Being in nature improves your mood and it positively impacts seasonal depression. But health benefits of nature go even further. A new study has found that mothers who live in or around green areas have babies with significantly higher birth weights. The study, published in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, looked at 40,000 births and took into account socioeconomic status, and neighborhood proximity to green spaces. The results showed that mothers who lived closer to parks, gardens, or even cemeteries had bigger, healthier babies.
